WORKING WITH SHAPES and CREATIVITY

A shape is said to be realistic when it is a true-to-life a copy of a real object and figurative when It is an approximate representation of the original object. However, abstract images are not true- to- life copies of real objects, although they are based on certain aspects of real objects, such as shape, colour, structure and proportion.

Activity
Look at the three drawings of a PENCIL. One has been done in a realistic style, whereas the one in the middle is figurative and the one in the right is abstract.
Think of another motif of your choice and draw three pictures of it , each in a different style.
