STARRY NIGHT

Starry Night is a painting by the Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view outside of his sanitarium room window at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (located in southern France) at night, although it was painted from memory during the day. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941. The painting is among Van Gogh's most well-known works and marks a decisive turn towards greater imaginative freedom in his art.

THE NETHERLANDS
This course cultural week has been dedicated to The Netherlands, so we have been painting tulips, bright landscapes and of course, starry nights.
Van Gogh is a worldwide known painter who tried to paint  his country in a very personal way. We have been learning his main painting techniques such as the use of brushstrokes and bold colours.

But what we didn´t know was his popular Starry Night could be seen worldwide!

Draw a simplified Christmas tree:

a big triangle. Measure it from the middle line. After this, draw lines across the drawing sheet: from top to bottom, from left to right, from top or bottom to the sides etc.

The tree has to be painted with different green colours (mix them!). The background has to be painted with warm mixed colours. If dry, the lines in the tree have to be drawn with a silver marker, the lines from the background with a gold marker.

Thank you to Kids artist blog for this idea

Scientific week

We have also done some crafts in 3rd and 4th of ESO during the scientific week.  I helped
Ms Rubio to make some  rain sticks in 3rd ESO  and we  made some candle holders made out of  glass jars and some plastic spoons in 4th ESO.
Some of them looked great!
